Falconers Association
Falconry is very different from the typical sense of hunting. For in falconry the man, or woman, is doing nothing more then acting as a sort of hunting dog for flushing wild game, and assisting the birds. The birds actually do the hunting for themselves. There really is no love or care between a falconer and their bird, the only reason they come back is the fact that the birds realize that the falconer is making their life easier. There is a lot of equipment used in falconry; a sample of just some is list bellow with a picture and description.
The most used piece of equipment by a falconer is their glove or gauntlet. There are many different styles of gloves in the world, some being up to your shoulder, used for eagles, others just over the wrist. Most gloves are fitted with a French clip so the bird can be attached to the glove. The gloves are usually made out of some form of leather, probably kangaroo or bovine. The gloves shown are typical gloves used for small or medium sized birds. They both are for righties, the gauntlet is worn on the person's secondary hand; righties wear the gloves on their left.
